03/02/2015 Work Session
Agenda Item – C.4.Approval of Monthly Human Resources Report
Q: At the work session I would to discuss where we left off with the nurses and the plan moving forward.
A: Based on feedback from the last Board of Education meeting, a revised proposal was developed that includes possible timeline for implementation, comparison of neighboring district service models and three options for consideration by the board. Please find the proposal attached at StudentHealthServicesInSchoolsRevisedProposal.pdf
Q: What is the GCIC Purpose code used in the background checks for Board of Education members?
A: Criminal history information is obtained one or two ways:
1) by conducting an inquiry using personal identifiers such as name date of birth (name search),
2) by submitting fingerprints to the Georgia Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center. In the name search there is a possibility that the information returned search may belong to a different person with the same, or similar, identifiers. In this case, a positive match of the person whose criminal history is sought requires submission of fingerprints. In response to the question, purpose code W is used to conduct a criminal history as part of the background check of all employees. This particular code provides a complete GCIC and NCIC check in addition to a complete First Offender information on specific sexual, abuse or neglect charges as per O.C.G.A. 35-3-34-1.
