DeKalb School Board Election Up In Air

Current district lines and the latest proposal passed by the DeKalb Delegation on Thursday.

DeKalb elections chief Maxine Daniels says unless state lawmakers resolve their political differences quickly, school board elections scheduled for May will be delayed.
“We can’t make law and so unless we’re provided with some kind of guidance, some kind of law, we will not do anything,” said Daniels.

Open Letter – DeKalb Schools FY '15 Budget

If you go to a Tucker Parent Council meeting, there is a good chance you’ll run into Kirk Lunde. He is a parent and tireless advocate for children. In an open letter to Superintendent Thurmond and the Board of Education, published by the Tucker Patch, Mr. Lunde echoes the sentiments of the public, “Class room first!”.
