Summary
When approved, the E-SPLOST Certificate of Revenue will allow for the collection of the one-percent E-SPLOST and the distribution of funds to the participating systems (DeKalb County School District, Atlanta Public Schools and the City Schools of Decatur) based on the distribution of FTE between the three systems.
Details
The re-imposition of a one percent sales and use tax within DeKalb County for educational purposes was approved by referendum on May 24, 2016. The renewed E-SPLOST will be imposed when the current educational SPLOST ends.
The Georgia Department of Revenue requires that the attached certification be approved by the School Board specifying the distribution of E-SPLOST revenues between the DeKalb County Board of Education, the Atlanta Board of Education and the City of Decatur School System based on the latest FTE count prior the referendum on May 24, 2016.
The distribution is based on the March, 2016 FTE count for the three school systems and will remain in effect-for the full term of the reauthorized E-SPLOST.
